STORY: So i was in Hanoi - no money, no idea where to go, wot to do. i was telling my woes to a random lady in a bar called Giang. Am i the only traveller who feels more comfortable opening their heart to a complete stranger i'll never meet again than a life long friend? But i'm astonished coz the very next day she phones me and tells me to grab my drawing stuff and meet on some street corner in 20 minutes. I can't resist such a mysterious encounter so I stuff a drawing block and some pencils in a bag and wait - no idea what to expect. She leads me to the park. I figure she wants me to draw some view. I sit down block in hand. Then she walks up to any1 and every1 and tells them i'm going to draw them! What?!? It all happens so quick I've no time to get nervous but just start drawing and drawing and drawing. I never saw Giang again but over the next months went down every day, made enuf cash for bed and food and started saving to return to uk where i had to be in spring. Without her i dont know wot i'd've done - a huge 'Cam on' ( thx in Vietnamese) Giang whereever u r :) !!

STORY: After so much drawing in Hanoi Park i got chatting to various random people including this lady in a travel agency who'll give me a discount on a flight to Thailand if i'll draw her :)

STORY: When i first started drawing people i was always trying to draw 'well' and worried it would be shit... so i'd only draw people i felt comfy with such as here - Petra: one of my my flatmates in Lisboa. I've almost totally finally overcome my biggest fuck up in life - just go and do and dont worry too much if it goes that well - it'll almoost certainly start wrong anyway and u can only learn from ur mistakes ifu'r brave enuf to make them anyway. Now my big challenge is to tell myself that despite my age it's still worth having a go :)
